  • Defining technical communication and what technical communication is in specific workplace / professional settings.
  • Analyzing the audience, context, and purpose of technical communication documents.
  • Writing and designing convincing, effective, and usable technical documents and presentations.
  • Identifying the needs of various users, stakeholders, and communities to build ethical, empathetic, accessible, and usable content.
  • Collaborating effectively to solve problems in technical communication.
  • Communicating effectively in a range of genres for diverse audiences.
  • Engaging in inquiry into the field, including conducting primary research.

What are the required assignments?
The required assignments include:

  • The game plan.
  • The video introduction.
  • The email.
  • The traditional resume.
  • The podcast proposal.
  • The infographic proposal and thumbnail sketches.
  • The end-of-semester reflection.

What are the optional assignments?
The optional assignments include:

  • Multiple opportunities to work with other students on assignments.
